So, you got ENGAGED! Now you are wondering where to start planning your wedding. There are so many amazing vendors out there and I will definitely be touching on that subject! This post however is my favorite wedding trends for the 2018/2019 season! If you are looking for inspiration or a sign from the gods which cake you should get look no further.
1. Donut Cakes
Who doesn't want donuts??! NO ONE! When I heard this was a thing I immediately looked to Pinterest to see what was circling the interwebs. (Disclaimer: Pinterest is really great but don't put too much pressure on yourself to have a "Pinterest Worthy" anything. You will end up being disappointed and this is the last thing I want for any of my couples.) One of my main reasons for this favorite is the cost savings. If you are a bride on a budget, this could be a great way to save on costs and stay trendy. Here are a few of my favorite Donut Cake examples, it is industry standard to book a cake at least 6 months in advance. Reach out to a few bakeries in your area and bring them your inspiration board!
2. Organic Decor
Organic settings bring your wedding decor to another level. There is just nothing like real greenery in your space. It's just good for the soul and it makes for some amazing photographs. Your guests will appreciate it too. Studies show organic spaces are good for the mind, body and soul.
If there is one thing that is my absolute favorite for celebrating or just to have it is balloons! I love balloons! I don't love they are terrible for the environment but disposing of them properly will help! (This means no releasing them to the sky.) Balloons add such a fun vibe and they are available in a unique amount of shapes, sizes and colors. They are so versatile and are the perfect addition to your reception.
4. Neon Signs
Neon signs are making a come back. I love how fun this trend is and the pop of color it adds to a venue space. This is an easy way to showcase a part of your personality as a couple!
5. Velvet Fabrics
Who knew these would make such a smashing return?! I am really into all the designs I have come across, this is such a nice alternative to plain white. Dress up your cocktail hour tables or speak with your planner/venue designer on how you can add in these elements without overdoing it.
